The MA assists with daily functions of the Clinic.Essential Job DutiesTake vital signsAnswer and triage phone calls from patientsDocumentation in EHR, past medical history, social history, surgery history, immunizations, and update medicationsPrepare patient for examAdminister medication/injection, maintain patient's confidentialityE-scribe prescriptions to pharmacyAssist providers as neededMaintenance of equipment and making recommendations for medical equipment as needed to SupervisorUpdate ordering list with any needed supplies and medicationsOversee inventory of medical supplies and equipmentAssist in chart documentation for quality purposed to ensure that provider coding and documentation matchingConduct In-House back office procedure lab tests/Nurse visits when appropriate (Sofia, Glucose, INR and UA dips.)Conduct quality control checks of machines and kits as directedServe as liaison between Provider and other hospital departments as necessaryVerify lab orders/ requisitionsClean and restock of patient rooms throughout the dayOpen tickets for Information AssistanceOpen and close the clinic Office as necessaryAssist with administrative assignments as neededOther (Non-Essential) Job DutiesOther duties as directed by Clinic Supervisors, or Clinic AdministratorsMinimum QualificationsMedical Assistant the intent to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) within 90 days of hireAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingAbility to maintain accurate records with attention to detailFunction in a team environment with courteous, compassionate and respectful treatment of patients and other team membersGood organizational skillsPreferred Qualifications6 months to 1 year of recent experience working in a providers officePhysical Requirements / Working ConditionsFrequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting; must be able to stand/walk for most of the workday; heavy lifting, must be able to lift packages up to 75 poundsMust be able to work paying close attention to detail with frequent interruptionsAbility to work in a fast-pace environment
