Molalla River School District is actively recruiting for a 0.4 FTE Physical Therapist for the 2026-2027 school year.

$800 annual professional practices stipend in addition to annual salary.

JOB GOAL: The goal of the Physical Therapist (PT) is to design and implement physical therapy programs for students with disabilities so that they can access their education. The PT will consult with the special education teacher and other related services staff to determine the needs of students and to assist in the development of comprehensive Individualized Education Plans (IEP's). The PT is also responsible for the direct supervision and coordination of work for the district's Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA) when applicable.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to execute each requirement satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the position.

1. Recent successful experience and training in pediatrics and low incidence disabilities such as intellectual disability and autism.
2. Demonstrated ability to compose and produce concise professional documents
3. Ability to supervise one or more LPTA(s) if applicable.
4. Skilled at working with other related services staff and teachers as resources for the coordination, planning and delivery of needed therapy.
5. Familiarity with adaptive equipment and technology used with students who have significant intellectual and physical disabilities.
6. Skills to make minor repairs to tools and equipment used in the course of providing physical therapy to students.
7. Proficient oral and written communication skills to complete the requirements of the position including preparing reports, maintaining records and effectively communicating information to administrators, licensed staff and families.
8. Proven track record of establishing and maintaining effective professional working relationships with all levels of administration, staff, students, families and the community as well as functioning as a successful member of a cohesive and high-performing team.
9. Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email, Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and instructional systems applications and the ability and desire to learn new applications as they are brought online by the District.
10. Ability to create, maintain and analyze data within student records and make recommendations based on area(s) of expertise.
11. Ability to work in a high stress environment, juggling multiple priorities and responsibilities to meet schedules and deadlines.
12. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
13. Ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to staff, student, and family information.
14. Possess a genuine enjoyment and understanding of children and awareness of the general purposes and goals of special education.
15. Willingness to operate in alignment and accordance with district and school defined policies and procedures.
16. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board and superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Include the following. Other duties may also be assigned.

1. Assess and evaluate students' physical, gross motor and mobility needs that negatively impact their ability to benefit from special education.
2. Gather input from special education staff (Teacher, Speech, Nursing) or other outside consultants and work closely with parents in the physical therapy program design.
3. Identify students' individual needs and treatment goals through participation in the development of IEP's.
4. Develop appropriate individualized treatment plans to make progress toward achieving the students' goals and objectives identified in the IEP's.
5. Provide individualized direct physical therapy to students whose IEPs contain PT services.
6. Delegate the delivery of assigned physical therapy activities to other special education staff; provide training, regular observations and feedback regarding implementation.
7. Consult regularly with special education staff regarding implementation of delegated physical therapy programs.
8. Assist classroom staff to manage students' behavior by utilizing intervention techniques designed by the teacher or classroom instructional team, following guidelines for use of the least intrusive interventions and best practices consistent with each student's needs and disabilities
9. Develop systems to record, monitor and interpret student progress toward goals.
10. Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, ESD policy and Oregon administrative regulations.
11. Supervise the LPTA following the State regulations for delegation of duties and frequency of supervision if applicable.
12. Design and fabricate adaptive equipment for individual student or classroom use
13. Order materials and equipment to implement therapy in the educational setting.
14. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in professional development activities

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, BONDING, AND/OR TESTING REQUIRED:

1. Current Oregon license to practice as a Physical Therapist or credentials to obtain one.
2. Possess and maintain a valid First Aid and CPR card if required
3. Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
