Licensed Practical Nurse

This position requires candidates to be available to work weekends with a block booking schedule. One week will consist of 36 hours, and the following week will consist of 48 hours. Responsibilities Administer medication and perform treatments as ordered by the physician and within the scope of the license. Ensure medications are administered in various forms, such as oral, enteral, parenteral, suppository, etc. Conduct treatments including sterile and aseptic wound cleaning, postural drainage, tracheostomy care, and more. Observe and report the effectiveness of medications and treatments. Ensure an adequate supply of medication and other necessary supplies. Receive and deliver information regarding residents' medical, social, and functional needs. Participate in shift reports and communicate with residents, families, and staff to ensure appropriate care. Complete initial admission nursing assessments for newly admitted residents. Supervise subordinate staff and assist with direct resident care and daily living activities. Conduct and participate in in-service training and staff development programs. Attend staff meetings and participate in quality improvement and infection control programs. Train new employees and perform other technical duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills Understanding of gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practice. Ability to observe and report resident conditions and changing care needs. Knowledge of team nursing practices and procedures for implementing treatment plans. Familiarity with pharmacology, medicines, and relevant laws and regulations. Proficiency in practical nursing methods and techniques. Skills in developing and implementing patient care plans within a team nursing concept. Ability to assess client needs and evaluate resources. Capability to work with challenging individuals and maintain excellent working relationships.
