Quality Engineer - Virginia Plant

Abbott seeks a Quality Engineer for its Altavista, Virginia nutrition manufacturing plant. The role involves managing manufacturing defects, developing quality systems, and leading process improvements to ensure product compliance and reduce variation across nutrition product lines.

Responsibilities

• Identify root causes of manufacturing defects and implement corrective and preventative actions
• Develop product quality plans, specifications, and systems in collaboration with product teams
• Create risk analyses and failure mode analyses as needed
• Lead process improvement initiatives and analyze quality metrics to enhance product design
• Mentor junior staff and provide guidance to less experienced contributors

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education and work experience
• Minimum two years related quality or manufacturing experience
• Working technical knowledge of quality practices, procedures, and concepts
• General understanding of business unit operations and functions
• Master's degree preferred

Compensation: $61,300-$122,700 base
