Job Description

This role focuses on efficiently handling all shipping and receiving activities within a busy warehouse and paper processing facility. You will inspect incoming shipments, verify documentation, maintain accurate inventory records, and support production by ensuring materials and supplies are available when needed. You will also assist with organizing the warehouse, coordinating outbound shipments, and working closely with carriers and the inventory team to keep operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments and carefully inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies.
  • Verify received items against purchase orders, packing slips, and other shipping documents.
  • Record all incoming items accurately in the inventory system.
  • Coordinate with the inventory team to ensure stock is properly stored, labeled, and recorded.
  • Report any damaged, missing, or incorrect items promptly to supervisors and vendors.
  • Operate computer software such as Microsoft D365 to process shipments and maintain records.
  • Work with carriers to schedule pickups and coordinate outbound shipments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping and receiving area.
  • Assist with inventory counts and perform regular stock audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Organize products within the warehouse to optimize space, accessibility, and efficiency.
  • Monitor and track materials and supplies needed for the production floor and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Load and unload trucks and other vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Perform physical and general labor tasks related to shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
  • Handle inbound orders, verify shipments, and support logistics, order selection, and kitting activities.

Essential Skills

  • Previous shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Hands-on experience with shipping, receiving, and shipment verification processes.
  • Ability to perform loading and unloading tasks and other physical labor duties.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy items for extended periods.
  • Experience with inventory control, including stock audits and inventory counts.
  • Familiarity with logistics, order selection, and kitting activities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a loud production environment with varying temperatures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience using Microsoft D365 or similar warehouse or inventory management software.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes in paper processing or manufacturing facilities.
  • Comfort working with carriers to schedule pickups and coordinate outbound shipments.
  • Attention to detail when verifying purchase orders, packing slips, and inventory records.
  • Strong communication skills to report issues and collaborate with supervisors, vendors, and team members.

Work Environment

This position is based in a paper processing and manufacturing facility with a warehouse setting. You will work primarily on the production floor and in shipping and receiving areas, where the environment can be very loud and temperatures may vary. Training is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, after which you will move to a second shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, loading, and unloading, as well as general physical labor throughout the shift. You will use tools and systems such as Microsoft D365 and other warehouse technologies to manage inventory, logistics, and shipping activities. For safety, steel-toe or composite-toe shoes are required at all times on the production floor. A break room is available for use during scheduled breaks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Covington, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.15 - $17.15/hr.
