Mental Health Technician (MHT)

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in the area of Independence, MO is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will work directly with patients experiencing behavioral health challenges, helping to ensure their safety, support their treatment plans, and promote a positive therapeutic environment.

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) will:

• Provide direct patient care and supervision in a behavioral health setting
• Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment at all times
• Conduct routine patient safety checks and observations
• Support patients with daily living activities as appropriate
• Respond appropriately to situations and behavioral escalations
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to support patient care plans

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field (preferred)
• Previous experience in behavioral health, psychiatric care, or healthcare setting preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and observational skills
• Must be able to manage challenging behaviors with professionalism and empathy
• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts, 7:00am-7:30pm
