Responsibilities

As a Remote Transcriptionist, you will play a crucial role in our operations. Your primary duties will include:
* Listening to various audio and video recordings, such as interviews, public hearings, meetings, and webinars, and transcribing them into accurate, verbatim text.
* Proofreading and editing transcriptions to ensure they are free from grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and punctuation inaccuracies.
* Adhering to strict formatting and style guidelines to produce professional and consistent documents.
* Researching technical terms, names, and acronyms related to New Jersey's public policy arena to ensure the highest level of accuracy.
* Managing multiple transcription projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
* Handling sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
* Proven experience as a professional transcriptionist or in a similar role.
* An excellent command of the English language, with outstanding grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
* An exceptional ability to listen carefully and capture spoken words accurately.
* A fast and precise typing speed.
* Proficiency in using transcription software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
* The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in a fully remote environment.
* A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Familiarity with terminology in public policy, government, or legal sectors is advantageous but not essential.
