Shift Day Monday - Friday 9am - 530pm Saturday rotation every 5th Saturday. Saturday hours 6am - 230pm

Preferred Experience Must hold HT credentials with at least 1 years of histology experience. Accessioning, gross room, frozen section and tissue processes experience desired. Experience with performing routine surgical pathology task required.

Job Summary

The Histotechnician 1 prepares specimens for microscopic evaluation and diagnosis. They perform technical procedures to create microscopic slide preparations. Operates and maintains laboratory instruments, records, and documentation with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions of the Role

• Perform variety of technical procedures resulting in creation of microscopic slide preparations.

• Follow quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.

• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

• Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies.

• Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.

• Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities.

• Demonstrates and educates laboratory practices and technical skills to others.

• EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent

• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
