Location: Avera Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine, Sioux Falls Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm; 80 hrs/2 weeks Position Highlights LPN: $22.50–$31.50 RN: $27.75–$41.75 Possible $6,000 sign‑on bonus Student Loan Repayment Program: $167/month, up to $10,000 total Job Summary Provide professional nursing care under provider direction; requires an active state license. Perform selected medical assistant and clerical duties; collaborate with clinic staff to solve practice problems. Demonstrate knowledge of growth & development principles and respond to patient/customer status data. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) and Medical Assistant diploma required upon hire; or CCMA with one year of experience upon hire CMA – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) upon hire Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) upon hire A Brief Overview Provide professional nursing care to patients and families, communicate with physicians and other health‑team members, and deliver excellent patient care. What You Will Do Perform general nursing care and administer prescribed medications and treatments per nursing standards. Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic. Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing. Observe, record, and report patient condition and reactions to drugs and treatments. Oversee appointment scheduling and prioritize patient preferences in emergencies. Maintain timely flow of patients, greet them, and prepare them for examination. Screen patients for appropriate information; obtain health history, take vitals, and conduct nursing assessments. Document obtained information in patient chart. Instruct patients in sample collection and testing. Respond to patient phone calls promptly with appropriate physician input. Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance. Suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints. Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness. Prepare lists of medical supplies needed. Ensure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens per lab protocol. Perform quality control and maintain records on all lab testing. Essential Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing; active state license required upon hire.
