Surgical Technologist

The Ambulatory Surgery Center provides comprehensive preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to surgical and procedural sedation patients, catering to a diverse patient population, including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. The center collaborates with various provider specialties to deliver high-quality care to outpatient surgery patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of a sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Prepare instruments and supplies for surgical cases according to the needs of the surgical team.
• Provide intraoperative support by anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
• Monitor and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures.
• Assist in patient positioning and transferring to and from surgical tables.

Schedule

Varies, with no weekends required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current certification to practice surgical technology in Oregon is required.
• Option 1: Completion of a training program for surgical technologists in the U.S. Armed Forces or U.S. Public Health Service.
• Option 2: Completion of a surgical technology education program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES, with certification from NBSTSA or program completion within the last twelve months.
• Option 3: At least two years of practice in surgical technology between January 1, 2014, and January 1, 2017, in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center.
• 16 hours of continuing education every two years in surgical technology is mandatory.
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.
• Experience or training in computer applications is preferred.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
