Safety Supervisor – A shift (Mon‑Fri 6 AM‑2:30 PM) Location: Lockbourne, USA – 225 Rathmell Rd Job area: Managerial SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing day‑to‑day Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) support to site leadership and operating teams within the designated facility. The role includes coaching, training, and developing safety and risk control programs, ensuring compliance with DSV’s Safety Programs Policies and Procedures and statutory requirements (including OHSAS 18001:2007). The Safety Supervisor functions as a subject‑matter expert and consultant, helping internal clients build sustainable loss‑improvement processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The HSE Supervisor manages complex HSE matters with site management, corporate HSE, external regulatory agencies, and provides strategic leadership and talent development for site staff to ensure program effectiveness. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES HSE Policies and Procedures Ensure compliance with DSV Safety Programs Policies and site SOPs. Develop and maintain daily management systems, annual assessments, and internal/external reporting. Set HSE goals aligned with corporate vision and implement accountability systems. Plan and conduct training for all new hires and maintain up‑to‑date records. Review and update policies annually and ensure timely training. Risk Assessment Develop and monitor risk assessment strategies. Ensure qualified personnel complete risk assessments. Monitoring Performance (Documentation, Tracking, Statistics and Reporting) Implement and track measures to comply with HSE regulations. Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions. Represent DSV with OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS, and other agencies. Audit facility and personnel for safety deficiencies and address promptly. Manage workers’ compensation claims until closure. Maintain accident statistics, analyze trends, and implement remedial action. Investigate accidents and near‑misses, prepare reports and recommend corrective actions. Ensure emergency management procedures are practiced annually. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Communicate all problems and solutions to site leadership. Follow all safety procedures and manage equipment, supplies, documents. Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain effective communication with all staff and the public. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Minimum 2 years in a medium to large warehouse HSE management role. Bachelor’s Degree. Experience in safety inspections, compliance strategy development. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES Computer Skills Strong proficiency in MS Office. Language Skills English (reading, writing, verbal). Mathematical Skills Intermediate spreadsheet skills for trend analysis. Other Skills Excellent training, supervisory, and communication skills. Strong project management, analytical skills, detail orientation. Presentation delivery to managers and executives. Stress management, maintaining composure. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Additional coursework in management and problem‑solving. Participation in local/community and industry safety organizations. Certified Safety Professional certification (preferred). PHYSICAL DEMANDS The role requires frequent use of hands for handling objects, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. COMPENSATION Base pay range: $77,537 – $93,044 annually (actual compensation based on experience, skills, certifications, and location).
