A Premium Server plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing professional and efficient food and beverage service during events. Their primary function is to ensure that all guests feel welcomed and attended to, following event specifications and service standards. From the setup of banquet spaces to the seamless execution of meal service, they maintain an acute focus on detail and hospitality. Servers work collaboratively with kitchen and event staff to ensure the timely delivery of courses, adapt to guest needs in real time, and uphold the ambiance and quality of the event. Beyond serving, Premium Servers contribute to the overall success of events by maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the service. They reset spaces for subsequent events and ensure that all equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately. Whether it's a formal gala, a corporate event, or a wedding reception, this applies. Premium Servers are integral in creating a positive impression of the venue and event host, embodying professionalism, efficiency, and a guest-focused attitude.

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.94 and is tip eligible.

The PeoplesBank Arena is Connecticut's premier destination for sports & entertainment. The 15,000+ seat downtown arena is home to the eleventh-time National Champion UConn Women's Basketball team and the six-time National Champion UConn Men's Basketball team. Led by Hall of Fame basketball Head Coach Geno Auriemma and Dan Hurley, the Men's & Women's basketball programs have established themselves as national powerhouses.

The PeoplesBank Arena is also home to the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, the primary developmental affiliate of the New York Rangers. The PeoplesBank Arena entertains millions of visitors annually with a variety of concerts, family shows, ice-skating spectaculars, consumer events, and trade shows throughout the season. The venue has played host to an extraordinary roster of world-renowned artists, including Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, Drake, and many others.

The PeoplesBank Arena will continue to be the center of sports and entertainment for Hartford and the State of Connecticut for years to come.

Maintains knowledge of the menu and any special items being offered.

Provides quick, attentive, friendly, and professional service to banquet guests and is able to communicate clearly with all customers.

Ensures that food items are served at the proper temperature and immediately upon availability from the kitchen, as ordered by the customer.

Ensures neat presentation of all ordered items, with no spill-over.

Pre-bus tables and fully bus tables when necessary during peak periods.

Maintains availability to work during many peak periods.

Stocks beverage station(s) when necessary (ice, juices, glassware, sugar packets, etc).

Maintains high responsiveness to customer desires and requests.

Maintains a professional and clean appearance.

Communicates with wait staff, bus persons, bartenders, supervisors, and kitchen staff to improve communication and coordination so that patrons may be impressed by their dining experience.

Builds and maintains knowledge regarding bar offerings so that patron questions may be accurately answered.

Minimum of 6 months working in a fast-paced, high-volume food service environment is preferred.

Must have a High School Diploma, G.E.D. or related food service job experience.

Must acquire and maintain a Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and other required compliance trainings.

Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.

Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.
