CHEP is looking for a motivated Operations Supervisor on 1st shift to join our team in Jacksonville, FL!Key Responsibilities May Include:Provide hands-on leadership by mentoring, coaching, and guiding employees, addressing employee relations issues, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.Lead and enhance safety performance on shift, promoting a proactive safety culture through training, accident prevention, and rehabilitation programs, ensuring compliance with safety standards.Manage shift maintenance activities, resolving equipment breakdowns in coordination with the maintenance team to maintain uninterrupted plant operations.Drive continuous improvement initiatives on shift, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across end to end operations.Monitor and manage the plant's operational costs and yield, working closely with the Plant Manager to optimize performance and contribute to the overall plant objectives.Address performance and attendance matters in collaboration with HR, ensuring that all plant staff meet operational expectations.Ensure full compliance with CHEP procedures and work instructions, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and in line with company standards and operational goals.As a Plant Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting the Plant Manager in managing total plant operations and delivering superior customer satisfaction by driving results and exceeding expectations in the key areas of safety, service, quality and cost.What You Will DoSupervise the work of all production employees – oversees production and shipping schedules based on availability of raw and finished goods.Provide hands-on leadership as a supervisor, responsible for mentoring and coaching all employees and working through employee relations issues.Support plant administration to ensure compliance to established policiesResponsible, in consultation with Plant Manager, for the cost and yield performance of the Plant in partnership with the overall P&L of the Plant.Support cost control initiatives and process control within the Plant.Review operations activities, including local transportation activities, to maintain compliance with all Federal, State and local laws (OSHA, DOL, DOJ, EPA, FD)Drive Safety improvements (Zero Harm) across the PlantEnsure the consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the Plant in accordance with the PMS Commercial Organization, Global Supply ChainDeliver best operational practices and cost efficiencies across the Plant while maintaining critical quality and raw material utilization standards that are necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and Plant profitability.Ensure compliance through teamwork for all Standard Operating Procedures within the PlantIdentify Lean opportunities to effectively eliminate wasteIn partnership with Plant Manager, provide leadership to Plant staff to effectively recruit, train, develop, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activitiesDrive efficiencies in asset utilization through proper transportation scheduling, dispatch, & driver management while meeting customer expectationsWhat You Will BringQualifications:Bachelors in Operations/Supply Chain -or- relevant experience in a related fieldSix Sigma/Lean certification desirableExperience:Prior experience in a plant supervisory role in an engineering or manufacturing environmentFamiliarity with private fleet management/transportation is helpfulStrong customer focus orientationStrong people management capability including non-exempt production workforceDemonstrated success in delivering strong employee relationsDemonstrated ability to work cross-functionallyExperience managing safety performance and programsUnderstanding of supply chain practices and metricsWhat To ExpectAdditional Site Details:This is a 1st shift role Mon-Fri approximately 6am-3pm with flexibility to arrive earlier, stay later or occasional Saturdays based on production needs.3-shift sort and repair operations of about 145+ employees totalApproximately 60-70 employees on shift~180k sq ft manufacturing/warehousing facility with 20+ dock doorsSemi-automated industrial equipment with some roboticsApproximately 80k+ pallet sorts and 45k pallet repairs per weekWhat We OfferCompetitive Pay w/ Shift DifferentialBenefits Day 1!401K w/ company match (up to 4%)FREE company-paid vision, short-term disability, and life insurance!FREE company-provided PPE and safety equipmentTuition reimbursement, parental leave, childcare assistance, profit sharing, and MORE!Compensation Statement:The salary range for this position is $62,000 to $90,000 annually. Compensation ranges provided take into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications, geographic differentials and other business and organizational needs. Therefore, actual amounts offered may be higher or lower than the range provided.
