Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) has served the San Francisco Bay Area for 175 years. We offer world-class services to support individuals and families across all stages of life, including adoption, mental health, senior care, disability services, financial assistance, Holocaust education, and youth development. Under the direction of the Director of Community Outreach, the Program Manager plays a key role in raising the profile of JFCS in the community by building relationships with individuals and organizations and encouraging their involvement in JFCS. The Program Manager develops and manages community and volunteer initiatives that extend our services to those who need them and connects the community with JFCS. The Program Manager is instrumental in building and strengthening NextGen (20s to 40s) community in SF and the Peninsula, including working with Jewish young adults to foster engagement, participation and leadership in JFCS programs and events.COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 (depending on experience) Employment Type: full-time, exempt position with benefits Employer 403(b) retirement match plus additional employer contribution (subject to eligibility) Cafeteria benefits plan that lets you customize coverage to fit your needs, with options like health insurance, FSAs, retirement plans, and wellness programs 16 holidays (10 federal and up to 6 Jewish holidays), annually 3 weeks of vacation and 2 weeks of sick leave, annuallyESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements strategies for targeted outreach to engage both individuals and organizations with JFCS and to recruit volunteers, attracting a cadre of trained, motivated, and engaged volunteers to support JFCS' programs and clients Collaborates with other regional staff to develop new projects, programs, and experiences for engagement of the San Francisco community with JFCS, including programs focused on families, retirees, and young professionals Manages direct service volunteer programs in the San Francisco region engaging volunteers with senior and adult clients to provide meaningful volunteer opportunities. Engaging volunteers with food bank opportunities Café by the Bay, Chicken Soupers, as Friendly visitors, and other programs as developed Responsibilities include assessment of clients referred to the program; recruitment, screening, and training of new volunteers; matching clients with volunteers and providing on-going support to volunteers to ensure success and to help solve problems that arise Acts as liaison between client, volunteer, and case managers to ensure that appropriate resources are provided to address client needs Manages volunteer inquiries, and follows volunteer screening, orientation, and training procedures that prepare volunteers for the range of services they provide and effectively link volunteer service to Jewish values and traditions Leads the development and execution of dynamic JFCS NextGen program across regions, including initiatives such as NextGen Community Connection, the Young Adult Leadership Association, the NextGen Community Council, and JFCS NextGen Leadership Speaker Series, while continuously innovating and expanding programming to engage and empower the next generation of leadersJOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in volunteer management or a related field of work, preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) required Knowledge of Jewish traditions, holidays, and customs; knowledge of Jewish organizations in San Francisco, previous experience working in the Jewish community preferred Experience facilitating large groups and ability to inspire volunteers through group presentations Excellent networking and outreach skills and ability to clearly present program goals and to work collaboratively with diverse staff Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends to support programs, events, or community engagement activities All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, including minorities, women, veterans, and disabled individuals.
