About the Position

Epic experience required. The shift is from 7 AM to 7 PM. This position will start ASAP. The unit provides care for cardiac and telemetry patients. This is not a stepdown unit. Temp to perm is a possibility. Every other weekend is required. There is no on-call requirement. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing. Floating may be required to different locations. The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. They provide routine and complex care with the ability to manage contingencies in clinical nursing. They will make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as a means to manage the clinical situation. The nurse meets expectations of applicable competencies in their role. Consistently following the nursing process, they provide assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. They address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Using the appropriate protocol, they will administer medications and treatments and monitor for side effects and effectiveness. Documentation of patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given is required. Assessment of learning needs and providing education to patients, family members, and caregivers is expected. Identification of issues and resources will be necessary to enhance patient care. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is expected. All newly hired experienced RNs must attend orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member. Skills completion and competency will be documented and tracked.
