RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

/n

• Work 12-hour shifts: 6:45 AM - 6:45 PM
/n• Every other weekend requirement
/n• Must be flexible and work holidays and days around holidays as needed
/n• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 in a 44-bed cardiac stepdown unit
/n• 2 years of stepdown experience in an acute care setting required without exception
/n• Must live 75+ miles from facility (drivers license verification required)
/n• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS preferred
/n• Scrub color requirement: Caribbean Blue
/n• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring system
/n• Handle various cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, and others
/n• Work with BiPap, CPAP, vapotherm, and high flow oxygen (no full ventilators)
/n• Float to ICU for stepdown patients only unless ICU experience noted
/n• 3-shift floor-specific orientation provided
/n• Care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, cardiovascular procedures, CHF, and arrhythmia patients
/n• Fast-paced environment with 12-16 patient admissions/discharges per shift on busy days
/n• Must have natural colored hair, no artificial nails, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos
/n• Use MEDITECH electronic medical record system
/n• Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks

This healthcare facility operates a 44-bed cardiac stepdown unit specializing in cardiovascular care and post-operative cardiac surgery patients. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house hospitalist coverage, respiratory therapy, pharmacy services, and a dedicated PICC team. The cardiac stepdown units include both cardiothoracic/cardiovascular surgery patients and those requiring cardiac drips and CHF management, providing comprehensive intermediate-level cardiac care between ICU and medical-surgical settings.
