Job Description
Welder
Constructs and assembles metal components for production and facility operation.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Fabricates new or replacement metal parts and components for production products
- Assembles component parts using hand tools and small power tools
- Conducts first-piece and in-process inspections, adjusts as necessary to meet specifications and quality standards
- Ensures accurate machine operation
- Assists with equipment change-overs
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand welding symbols and terminology
- Ability to read and follow weldment assembly drawings
- Solid understanding of proper welding procedures
- Steady hands and good hand-eye coordination
- Physical strength and endurance
- High aptitude for math; ability to read and understand blueprints
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Commitment to all aspects of safety
- Able to handle working on and completing projects within tight deadlines while maintaining professionalism
Education and Experience:
- 2+ years' experience as a Welder; Certification or Licensed preferred
- Forklift experience is helpful, but not required
- Bi-lingual Spanish a plus
