Transportation Manager

Job Summary The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fleet, ensuring customer base is provided prompt & efficient service by our team of drivers. The Transportation Manager is also responsible for developing business relationships with current and potential customers. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. Responsible for transportation of raw materials; schedules all outgoing finished product and the transportation of such. Responsible for all routes and routing process; makes changes as necessary to ensure route efficiency; schedules all drivers ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. Sets schedules and start times for raw materials transfer drivers to ensure a constant flow of material to the plant. Involved in hiring, training, and safety orientation of new drivers. Monitors DOT logs and driver timecards to guarantee drivers operate within regulations. Responsible for maintaining current accounts and enlisting new accounts in designated area. Provides prompt, efficient, quality service to all customers in area. All other duties as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in route-based processes; includes: Supervision of route drivers. Customer service experience. Preferred Qualifications Valid CDL Class A driver's license with clean driving record. Can communicate clearly in verbal and written form. Highly organized; superior time management skills. Able to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations. Leadership ability; able to direct and supervise others.
