Job Opportunity – Operating Room Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week (Monday-Friday 9:00 PM - 6:30 AM; weekends 12-hour shifts). Holiday and weekend coverage required. Call coverage included as part of regular scheduling.

Highlights:

• Work in a high-acuity, 18-bed Operating Room performing 45-50 surgical procedures daily
• Exposure to diverse surgical specialties including General Surgery, Trauma, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Transplant, Robotics, and more
• Level 1 Trauma center experience with advanced surgical technologies including DaVinci Xi Robotic System
• Epic charting system in use
• 13-week assignment with 3 weekend shifts per contract and one pre-approved time off period
• First-time travelers welcome with appropriate experience

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of application)
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Critical Required Experience: DaVinci Xi Robotic Surgery and Liver Transplant (both mandatory)
• Must have proficiency in at least one: Neurological surgery OR Orthopedic surgery
• Preferred experience with Ophthalmology procedures
• Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal supervisor)
• Willingness to float to different units within the organization as needed
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Key Procedures & Skills:

This position involves scrubbing and circulating for complex surgical cases including transplant procedures (liver, kidney), robotic-assisted surgeries across multiple specialties, trauma cases (gunshot/stab wounds, MVA), neurological procedures (craniotomy, spinal fusion), orthopedic surgeries (joint replacement, XLIF), and various general, urologic, gynecologic, and ENT procedures.

Compliance & Onboarding:

• Strict compliance deadline: Tuesday prior to start date with no exceptions
• Urgent Ohio fingerprinting process required immediately upon contract signing
• Candidates must be responsive and cooperative with credentialing team
• Former facility employees eligible after 6 months separation
• Parking permits available (costs range from approximately $197-$750 depending on location and frequency)

Dress Code:

Professional healthcare standards apply. Artificial nails, enhanced nail lacquer, gel polish, and nail jewelry are prohibited. All jewelry and armbands must be removed from upper extremities prior to scrubbing.
