Randstad is seeking a Senior Security Technology Project Manager for a high-visibility initiative with a major rail and transit client in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in physical security technology, systems integration, and Video Management Systems (VMS), with proven expertise leading complex deployments involving AI-enabled video analytics onboard trains. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating across security, technology, operations, vendors, and rail stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of video-on-train initiatives. You will bridge the gap between technical execution and executive management, remaining equally comfortable discussing complex integration details with engineers and vendors as you are driving schedules, budgets, risk mitigation, and executive communications that deliver measurable security and operational value.

responsibilities:



Video-on-Train Program Execution: Lead the end-to-end implementation of onboard train video initiatives, managing project deliverables, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation across complex deployment environments.

AI Analytics & Alerting Workflows: Oversee the deployment and integration of AI-enabled video analytics onboard trains, ensuring real-time alerting workflows and operational use cases align with practical security needs.

SOC Integration & Operator Usability: Work closely with Security Operations Center (SOC) teams to optimize how operators consume, assess, and respond to incoming AI video alerts and incident management workflows.

Stakeholder & Rail Operations Coordination: Translate operational security requirements into concrete technical solutions and project deliverables while coordinating seamlessly across security, technology, rail operations, and executive leadership.

Vendor & Systems Integrator Oversight: Direct third-party vendors and systems integration partners to ensure physical security, CCTV, and VMS solutions meet strict reliability and performance standards.

Technical Integration & Onboard Systems: Partner with engineering and IT teams to address onboard technology deployment considerations, including data transmission, wireless networking, and system reliability across mobile assets.

qualifications:
Physical Security & VMS Expertise: Extensive experience managing physical security, CCTV, VMS (Genetec, Lenel, or similar enterprise platforms), and systems integration projects.

AI-Driven Analytics & Operational Use Cases: Deep understanding of AI video analytics, real-time alerting workflows, and how automated detection integrates into day-to-day security operations.

SOC Environment Familiarity: Solid working knowledge of SOC environments, alert handling, and operator response mechanisms.

Transportation & Critical Infrastructure Experience: Highly preferred experience working in rail, public transit, public safety, or similarly regulated critical infrastructure environments.

Onboard Technology & Networking Knowledge: Plus/desirable understanding of onboard hardware/software deployments, mobile data transmission, onboard networking, and system reliability factors.

Cross-Functional & Vendor Management: Demonstrated strength in vendor management, multi-stakeholder engagement, and translating business/operational security needs into technical execution.

Balanced PM Competencies: Proven ability to engage in technical integration discussions with engineers while effectively driving governance, executive reporting, and project value metrics.
