Per-Diem School Nurse (RN)

Job Summary MHS is currently seeking a Per‑Diem Registered School Nurse (PRN) to join our growing health care team. The health center is staffed by Registered Nurses, Physicians, Certified Nursing & Medical Assistants, and Staff Assistants. It provides comprehensive health care to students in a 40‑bed infirmary for ill, injured, or postoperative students, as well as mental wellness services. PRNs work two 12‑hour weekend shifts in a 4‑week scheduling period (up to 29 hours per week). Hourly pay rate: $40.80 – $47.94 depending on the shift scheduled. Per‑diem employees do not receive benefits. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive health care to students in the infirmary and mental wellness services. Conduct physical assessments and offer primary pediatric, school health, and emergency nursing care. Offer counseling support and act as a role model for MHS students. Engage actively with MHS students beyond the scope of job responsibilities as needed. Maintain flexible attendance to meet scheduled shifts. Qualifications PA Registered Nurse License required; bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Minimum of two years of nursing experience in physical assessment, primary pediatric, school health, and/or emergency nursing. Valid license to practice as a registered nurse in PA. Valid PA Driver’s license in good standing. Current CPR certification and advanced first aid training. Demonstrated high level of integrity and willingness to serve as a role model for MHS students.
