SUMMARY The Export Specialist facilitates the movement of products/equipment/materials out of the country via ocean or air freight, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and all relevant local, national, and international laws and processes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepare and coordinate the necessary documentation for the efficient, cost‑effective, and lawful execution of all export activities. Coordinate cargo pick‑up/transfer and monitor status. Communicate with export‑related authorities, customers, and suppliers in all relevant territories and countries to ensure efficient, positive, and lawful relations, support, and activities. Obtain spot rates when necessary. Communicate or correspond with overseas agents and clients in a timely manner, including pre‑alerts, rate requests, and shipment status updates. Track shipments and update customers/agents on status. Create and maintain customer files. Create customer invoices and approve payables. Audit files to ensure accuracy and completion. Ensure accurate data entry and document upload into the system. Assist other departments/divisions as needed or when requested by a department or branch manager. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum three (3) years of experience handling exports (air and/or ocean) or a combination of education and expertise that is equally relevant. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Flexibility, strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines. Ability to work in a team and independently. Knowledge of U.S. customs laws, practices, and procedures. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED required; experience handling the full life cycle of exports (air and/or ocean) is required. ENVIRONMENT The position is 100% performed in a climate‑controlled internal office environment under normal office conditions. The employee regularly sits, stands, walks, uses hands and fingers, talks, and hears. The employee often stops, kneels, crouches, and lifts up to 25 pounds. The position requires working in a fluid, fast‑paced environment. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Responsibilities may change from time to time in accordance with the company’s business needs.
