Lead Public Safety Officer, Edward Hospital, Nights

Position Highlights Position: Lead Public Safety Officer Location: Edward Hospital – Naperville, IL Hours: Nights – 6pm – 6am. Days: Wednesday – Sunday. Full Time – 40 hours per week. Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 – $28.84 (determined by experience and expertise). Responsibilities Demonstrates knowledge and skills needed to provide care appropriate to patient age, including physical and psychological needs. In the absence of the Shift Supervisor, coordinates the work of assigned department staff and determines daily work post assignments. Assists Shift Supervisor to train and orient newly hired Security Officers. Monitors Security Officers in performance of duties and provides ongoing direction. Decides when an incident requires written report, which form to use, and submits to Supervisor, Public Safety. Prepares other written reports as directed. Assists Shift Supervisor to coordinate interviews for investigations with employees and law enforcement agencies. Briefs incoming Lead Officer regarding any reports and pertinent information. Performs duties of Public Safety Officer. Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Minimum two years’ experience in a customer-focused service-based organization. Fundamental understanding of computers, loss prevention and fire/security technology. Basic level of microcomputer software (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.). Valid Illinois Firearm Owner’s Identification Card within 90 days of start date. Valid CPR certification issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross within 90 days of start date. Valid driver’s license; if personal vehicle used, maintain automobile liability coverage and evidence of coverage. CPR (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within six months of hire. Certification by International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) for Basic Healthcare Security Officer training course within twelve months of start date (preferred).
