Position Summary The Van Driver at CRISTA Senior Living provides safe, reliable, and courteous transportation for approximately 700 residents, supporting their independence by transporting them to medical appointments, shopping, and recreational outings while maintaining vehicle cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company policies. Responsibilities Greet residents with a friendly and professional demeanor. Pick residents up at designated locations and assist them on/off vehicle, offering an arm for additional support. Escort residents to the entrances of their destinations (and beyond if the resident is unsteady or unable to navigate). Offer and provide assistance with lifting grocery bags or packages if requested or needed by residents. Report all behavior changes in residents to the Transportation Manager. Inspect both the interior and exterior of the vehicle before and during the shift to ensure cleanliness and safety. Keep vehicles clean at all times (no trash, smudges, or clutter). Follow van policies, including no snacking in fleet vehicles, and clean protocols provided by the Manager or Lead. Examine engine oil, coolant, windshield washer fluid, and fuel before the first trip; follow SOPs provided by Manager or Lead. Notify the Manager or Lead immediately if you notice any mechanical issues such as a malfunctioning turn signal, unusual noises, steering wheel pulling, or transmission shifting issues. Fill out vehicle inspection forms and submit them to the Manager or Lead upon return. Ensure all vehicle accessories are present, properly stored, and in good working condition (fire extinguishers, highway warning kits, and first aid kits). Perform safe, efficient transportation via sedan or van to medical appointments, errands, and social/recreational outings scheduled with the CSL Transportation office. Participate in continuing education programs and team meetings when possible. Work collaboratively with coworkers, residents, and other departments of CRISTA Ministries as requested by the Manager or Lead. Maintain required statistical information by keeping a daily transportation log and working with the Transportation Supervisor to establish data gathering methods for program evaluation. Obtain approval from the CSL Transportation Manager or Lead before using a P-card and upload all receipts promptly. Perform other duties as assigned. Conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith, and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC). Essential Qualifications Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. Committed Christian dedicated to continued spiritual growth through daily prayer, fellowship, Bible study, etc. Prayfully seeks God's will in own life and ministry at CRISTA. Engages ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, and leading devotionals. Affirms, aligns with, and supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC). Conducts themselves in a manner reflecting well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith, and CCC. Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader. Education High school diploma or equivalent. Experience Minimum of three years driving experience. Licensure / Certification Valid Washington State Driver’s License. Minimum 3 years with a clear driving record. First Aid certification or training and certification within 90 days of employment. Complete Relias training to meet requirement of CRISTA Senior Living Administration. Software / Equipment Knowledge Computer, phones, Microsoft Office and others. Other Considerations Minimum age 25. Flexibility with the schedule is necessary daily, including time to report to or leave work, driving in heavy traffic, appointment cancellations, and unscheduled additional activities. Protected Health Information at Level 2 – Minimum resident information necessary to complete assigned task and/or document actions. Read, write, communicate in and interpret English at a functional level. Ability to pass background checks relating to DSHS Secretary’s List of Crimes and Negative Actions (WAC 388-113). Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Shoreline, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Northgate, Seattle and Everett is a plus. Familiarity with surrounding geographical areas of King and Snohomish Counties.
