Role Overview In Growth Marketing, our goal is to increase the number of transacting Customers while also growing their purchase frequency and lifetime value. We build core platforms and services that power Coupang’s growth. Various platforms under our portfolio include Search Advertising Platform, Affiliate Platform, Display targeting & re-targeting Platform, CRM, Audience Platform, Push Marketing Platform, and other core marketing services for landing, tracking & attribution. ML opportunities across these portfolios include targeting, personalization, product & offer recommendations, budget optimization, real-time bidding, creative optimization, fraud detection, and various others.You will play a critical role in driving innovation in Machine Learning enablement of Growth / Marketing platforms. You will design & develop end to end machine learning solutions to drive impact across our portfolio of platforms. You will collaborate with various Growth Marketing teams to build and deploy ML models & services that will directly help grow customers, increase wallet share and improve ROAS. This is an exceptional opportunity to drive Coupang’s growth and create a world where our customers ask, ‘How did I ever live without Coupang?’What You Will Do Drive end-to-end Engineering and Machine learning methods that have a high degree of ambiguity, scale and complexityBuild machine learning models, perform proof-of-concept, experiment, optimize and deploy your models into production. Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for data analysis, machine-learning model development, model validation and serving.Present results and explain methods to the leadership.Mentor junior engineers on the team and partner teams and help to uplevel ML talent across the company.Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a closely related field8 years working experience in the engineering teams that build large-scale ML- driven user-facing productsDemonstrated experience in building and maintaining highly available, distributed systemsPreferred Qualifications Experience in working on, backend and ML systems for large-scale user-facing products, and have a good understanding of how they all work.Experience in closely collaborating with other engineering teams to ship new ML technologies.The ideal candidate will possess the self-motivation, curiosity, creativity and initiative to achieve goals.Extensive knowledge in deep learningExperience with state of the art ML modeling techniques and approaches like transformers, self supervised pre-training, generative modeling, LLMs, etc.Hands-on experience training and applying models at scale.Proficient coding skills in Java, C++ or PythonPay & Benefits Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation. The base pay for this position ranges from $152,00/year to $261,000/year.
