AI Native Software Engineer

Title: AI Native Software Engineer (Senior / Lead IC Only)
Location: 5205 North O'Connor Blvd, West Tower, Irving, TX 75039

Client is covering the travel costs, but the role is 50-75percent travel - Some weeks are Monday - Wednesday and others Monday - Thursday but it will be weekly.

8-10+ years total software engineering experience
Senior / Technical Lead Individual Contributor (not manager)


B. Enterprise Environment Experience
Has worked in large enterprise environments
Reject if experience is limited to:
Startups only
Small companies


C. Production AI (THIS IS THE #1 FILTER)
Must be able to explain this clearly


Ask:


"Tell me about an AI system you personally built and supported in production."


Candidate must demonstrate:


Production-deployed AI (not POCs)
Hands-on with: Agents and/or RAG , Orchestration workflows
Experience with: Monitoring & logging, Performance, latency, reliability, Debugging production issues


Reject if: Only chatbots and "AI" listed in resume with no operational depth


D. Hands-On Engineering Depth


Personally writes, deploys, and debugs code
Can walk through:
How the system was built
Design tradeoffs
Production challenges
Reject if candidate only:
Designed or reviewed
Managed delivery
Delegated build work


E. Cloud-Native & Tooling (Must Be Explicit)


Resume must clearly show:
APIs / microservices
Containers (Docker / Kubernetes) or serverless
CI/CD pipelines
Infrastructure as Code
Monitoring / observability tools

Required Skills & Experience

• 8-10+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong experience with cloud-native systems (APIs, microservices, containers, serverless)
• Experience building and deploying AI/LLM-based systems in production (agents, RAG, orchestration)
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar backend languages
• Experience with:
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Infrastructure as code
  • Monitoring and observability tools
• Hands-on experience with AI platforms (OpenAI, Claude, Vertex AI, or similar)

Preferred Experience

• Experience with agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI)
• Experience designing multi-agent or distributed AI systems
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale system integration
• Experience optimizing AI workloads for cost and performance
