Position Description: Work will include general building maintenance, daily ammonia system
requirements, and repairing railcars. This position will routinely use hand tools, power tools, and other
equipment operation. This is indoor and outdoor and physical work involving kneeling, bending and
stooping.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Perform daily ammonia system requirements
• Perform routine maintenance on railcars
• Perform routine maintenance necessary to building exterior/interior
• Assists and performs with installation, maintenance, repair and construction work in the basic
building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing
• Assist with inspecting and maintaining (physically and visually), interior and exterior buildings,
parking lots, and grounds
• Repair building fixtures and equipment
• Maintains maintenance area in clean and orderly condition
• Snow removal
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with team members, vendors, and customers
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
• High school diploma or GED
• Dependable attendance, hard work, team player
• Ability to use all tools required to repair railcars
• Perform heavy, physical labor
• Operation of various hand and power tools
Working Conditions:
• Able to work outdoors in extreme all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet),
• Able to work in conditions that include dirt and dust
• Able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with or without assistance
• Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
• Able to perform work on uneven surfaces
• Frequently climb ladders and on/off equipment, and work from various heights including making
repairs on top of railcars/buildings
• Able to work on and around heavy and moving machinery
• Bend, walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time
• Use hand tools
• Follow safety policies and procedures
• Wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner
