Mammographer | Full Time | Outpatient | Bellevue

Overview Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is located in Nashville, Tennessee. The Mammographer will perform diagnostic mammographic procedures in accordance with departmental policies to ensure high quality patient care. Organization VIS Bellevue Techs Job Summary The Mammographer performs diagnostic mammographic procedures in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures to ensure the best possible patient care services are delivered. Key Responsibilities Perform all mammographic procedures and views according to established protocols; carry out all required tasks; maintain appropriate procedure volume by shift; review radiographs for positioning, technique, and labeling; complete all documentation; deliver images to viewing areas, film file room, or PACS; clean room, cassettes, and equipment; restock supplies; demonstrate accurate positioning; participate in quality control and assurance; accept supervisory assignments; provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self. Demonstrate competency in performing procedures for adults to geriatric patients; explain procedures; consider patient comfort; identify learning needs; provide age‑appropriate verbal education. Handle all assigned RIS transactions to record accurate patient and procedure information for medical records and billing. Perform equipment maintenance checks; report malfunctions; execute quality assurance procedures; record downtime and notify personnel. Communicate with hospital staff and physicians regarding patient information; assist in exam scheduling; report patient problems through the appropriate chain of command. Contribute to a positive work environment; work effectively as a team; display flexibility; volunteer for odd shifts; collaborate with clinical staff as required. Technical Capabilities Allied health professionals perform supportive, diagnostic, and therapeutic healthcare services to promote health and prevent disease. Position Qualifications Certification – LIC, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Relevant Work Experience – 1 year. Education – Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program.
