Responsibilities

• Directly provide patient care and monitor responses to labor, delivery, and postpartum phases; support breastfeeding as needed
• Assess health status of laboring patients and neonates; document findings and communicate with the physician and nursing leadership
• Collaborate with the patient, family, healthcare providers, and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans with measurable goals
• Maintain accurate documentation of events, education, and interventions in the electronic medical record
• Assist physicians with procedures and manage emergencies in the unit; serve as a patient advocate
• Promote patient education on pregnancy, newborn care, and infant safety; ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized unit environment

Requirements

• Education: Minimum ADN from an accredited nursing program
• Licenses: Current, active Registered Nurse license in Colorado
• Certifications: BLS and NRP required; ACLS certification and NRP preferred
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant obstetric nursing experience
• Ability to work in a labor and delivery setting, including nights, weekends, and potential holiday coverage
