Job Type: Non Exempt

Job Summary: Responsible for providing therapy services consistent with licensure to clients including evaluation of patient, establishing plan of care, implementing treatment, directing, and educating patient and/or caregiver and documentation of the above. Supervise therapy assistants, technicians, students, and volunteers as applicable. Communicate with other health care providers regarding client care and treatment plans. Provide training and education for hospital staff as requested. Complete patient documentation in a timely manner to meet regulatory and organizational requirements. Attend continuing education programs and present findings to appropriate staff as applicable. Review and complete all insurance authorization requirements for patients in a timely manner. Assist with performance improvement for rehab department and hospital. Understand use and precautions of any treatments and equipment used. Positively contributes to the departmental financial performance/productivity.

Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited PT program. Experience: No experience necessary. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Licensure: Virginia State Therapy License, Physical Therapist Trainee in Virginia, or Compact Privilege.

Physical Demands: Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment.

Other: May require the use of safety equipment, such as HEPA mask, for infection prevention: Yes. On call responsibilities as directed: Yes. Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed: Yes.

The base compensation for this role is $57.00 hourly. Please note that the pay rate does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
