Removable Department Manager

Perry & Young Dental Lab

Join National Dentex – a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry. We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. We have several labs throughout the country and are hiring key positions, including a full‑time Removable Department Manager at NDX Mallow Tru , Lee’s Summit, MO. Regular hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This position may be subject to change from time to time. Full‑time position featuring employee benefits: health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance; paid holiday, vacation and sick time; 401(k) with company contribution; and tuition reimbursement. Primary Responsibilities And Essential Functions Of The Position Manages and maintains staff by selecting, orienting and training team members; maintains a safe, secure, and legal work environment; and develops personal growth opportunities. Determines staffing and capacity plans. Makes hiring decisions in accordance with SOP. Provides leadership and supervision of all aspects and functions in the Removable Department to ensure product quality, profitable sales growth and overall team development. Maintains quality service by enforcing standards, analyzing and resolving quality problems, identifying trends and recommending systems improvements. Works closely with the General Manager and collaborates with other Department Leaders to manage overall lab productivity in meeting company goals. Coordinates team effort to ensure workflow, productivity and quality requirements are met. Champions continuous improvement activities to improve company performance and reviews and updates product quality standards. Champions effective communication between all departments and creates a positive work environment. Optimizes workload balance between department and team members and possesses good working knowledge of all department functions. Manages the work systems and materials to produce product at the lowest possible cost while maintaining superior quality. Stays current on customer service issues and follows up on all customer complaints to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction. Can personally perform all QC functions in the department. Tracks and addresses remake issues and coordinates resolution with managers and team members. Makes final determinations on hard rules for doctor preferences and standards. Schedules and leads regular team meetings and participates in leadership meetings. Performs final review and approval of time cards on Kronos in accordance with company policies. Prepares and conducts performance appraisals and improvement plans for direct reports. Enforces company policies (safety, attendance, dress code, conduct, etc.) and oversees attendance. Ensures work areas and equipment are maintained in compliance with safety guidelines. Handles customer calls as needed and proactively solves technical issues that impact customer service. Stays current with laboratory and industry product and technology updates and participates in company training and meetings. Supports budget planning and maintenance in collaboration with the General Manager. Leads and participates in special projects as required. Possesses the ability to assist customers chairside with removable cases. Other duties as assigned. Skills And Abilities Required Fluent in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English. Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to convey issues and solutions diplomatically. Strong leadership and teamwork skills. Familiar with dental and laboratory procedures, processes and terminology. In‑depth knowledge of company products, services, industry practices and marketing techniques. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and follow‑up. Basic computer skills, typing, CRM and Magic Touch system knowledge, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to read and interpret prescriptions and procedure manuals. Time‑management skills to handle multiple duties and projects in a fast‑paced environment. Analytical thinking and openness to process improvement. Ability to coach, mentor and train team members. Self‑starter with initiative, motivation and assertiveness. Independent work capability with minimal direction. Maintains confidentiality and models core company values of honesty, respect, commitment, accountability and communication. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Active listening and assessment of situations with feedback and solutions. Effective communication with customers and company members. Detail‑oriented with ability to diplomatically train for correction. Vision capabilities: depth perception, attention to detail and color discernment. Excellent hand‑eye coordination. Minimum Education And Experience Required High school diploma or GED equivalent (college degree or business‑related coursework preferred). Five years’ experience in a dental lab production environment, including five years of team management. General knowledge of Microsoft Office. Hazardous Materials Or Equipment Used Sandblaster Carving blades Bard parker knife Plaster knife Stone wheel Welder Hand Piece and related tools Scanning Equipment Anodizing equipment and liquids Sharp tools Electronic Hand Piece Bench Lathe Acrylic monomer/polymer Hot Wax Physical Requirements Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, reach, and use office equipment such as telephone, computer, printer/copier and files. Ability to talk and hear; specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and focus adjustment.
