Assistant Store Manager I Mobile

Job Description Assistant Store Manager I – manages a Cox retail store with high transaction volume and customer traffic. Reports to the Store Manager, provides training and coaching for sales staff, conducts performance reviews, drives acquisition and retention initiatives, and supports overall store operations. Responsibilities Translate performance goals and objectives for the team and individual employees (sets weekly, monthly, and individual sales goals). Manage sales revenue to drive acquisition and retention initiatives. Provide ongoing training and coaching for sales staff. Facilitate weekly sales meetings to align associates with corporate initiatives, including customer and product strategies. Act as a point of escalation for complicated sales or customer disputes. Plan and execute trainings, identify opportunities for staff development, and coordinate corporate learning initiatives. Troubleshoot customer technical problems and sales tool related issues. Assess local competitive assortment and pricing trends and report discrepancies to leadership. Serve as SME for all product knowledge and sales tools. Assist with hiring, onboarding, developing, and scheduling sales staff. Handle daily cash reconciliation and weekly store audits as assigned. Maintain store and sales floor inventory to align with corporate strategy. Support operational expenses and cost optimization (headcount, inventory budget, workforce management). Qualifications Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related field or a higher degree/concept beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline. 1 year of management or leadership experience, preferably in Wireless, Telecommunications, and/or Retail Sales. Previous experience with store operational duties; experience selling Wireless/Mobile products highly preferred. Ability to motivate and coach staff to meet sales, retention, and customer experience targets. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to build relationships and adapt to a diverse customer base. Strong business acumen and understanding of how to run a successful store. Ability to be mobile for long periods and manage inventory and customer interactions. Ability to prioritize and adjust approach in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment. Computer literacy with aptitude for learning communication products, services, and accessories. Physical strength to lift 25‑50 pounds for inventory tasks. Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship. Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay rate: $23.27 – $34.90 per hour. Annual incentive/commission target: $13,056.00.
