Center-Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Life Skills Autism Academy is looking for exceptional behavior technicians! Candidates must hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or be willing to complete a 40‑hour training course and sit for their RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment. Registered Behavior Technicians help the development of children who are on the Autism Spectrum by providing ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy in a 1:1 setting under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. This therapy is used to increase critical developmental skills such as language, communication, social, and school‑readiness behaviors. Pay Range $18 – $24 (negotiable based on experience, education, and skills) Schedule Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Job Type Center‑based, Full‑time, Hourly Behavior Technician Job Responsibilities Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training. Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in the client’s individualized treatment plan built by a BCBA/BC. Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior. Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with the client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols. Ensure documentation is completed on time and follows established procedures. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by BCBA/BC. Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when working with clients and report all critical incidents and safety concerns. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment. Assist BCBA/BC in preparing client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition. Required Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge Willing to participate in the company’s background check process if an offer is extended. High School Diploma or GED required. Reliable transportation; proof of driver’s license and valid car insurance may be required. Minimum age 18 years. Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and a TB test if not received in the past year. Ability to physically perform job duties, including lowering to the floor, standing many times, lifting up to 50 lbs, and moving quickly for interaction with children. Dependable and punctual for each scheduled therapy appointment. Professional conduct and presentation at all times. Patience to help keep clients on task. Ability to maintain emotional control when clients act out physically or verbally. Positive attitude and drive to help children acquire new skills. Strong attention to detail and capacity for repetitive tasks. Follow and execute detailed instructions accurately. Proficiency with technology to record data on a mobile device and navigate digital applications. Good written and verbal communication skills. Cultural competency with flexibility and open‑mindedness. Additional Qualifications (not required) Experience as a Behavioral Technician, or in capacities with children with autism or other learning disabilities, Teacher’s Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide.
