Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00 pm to 7:00 am

Location: St. Joseph Medical Center- Kansas City, MO

As a Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you'll provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients with acute mental health needs in a dynamic inpatient behavioral health setting. Working alongside Registered Nurses and an interdisciplinary care team, you'll play a key role in promoting patient safety, stabilization, and recovery.

From medication administration and patient monitoring to behavioral observation, crisis intervention, and care coordination, you'll help create a safe, therapeutic environment where patients can heal and thrive. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute mental and behavioral health needs in an inpatient setting
• Observe, monitor, and document patient behavior, mental status, and safety risks
• Administer medications as ordered and monitor for side effects
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation to promote unit safety
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers, including patient education
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation per policy and regulations

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• A current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
• A current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it current.
• IV certification within 90 days of hire
