Our team consists of board-certified Emergency Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, highly trained and certified emergency nurses, Paramedics and Technicians. We are equipped and ready to care for all medical and traumatic emergencies for all age groups.This unit provides 24-hour provision of patient care services to populations ranging from infant to elderly. The Emergency Department is problem focused, addressing the most urgent and relevant clinical needs of patients during their emergency visit. The ED averages 15,600 patient visits per year and is staffed by IU Health Southern Indiana Physicians Emergency Medicine providers. The clinician is exposed to a breadth of clinical work not experienced in most other units. Technology includes electronic medical records, including physician order entry. Nurses work with independent care providers including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and board-certified emergency physicians.QualificationsRequires 1 year RN experience.Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience.
