We are hiring a Canvass Director to manage our office in Seattle, WA The Canvass Director will recruit, train, and manage a team of local canvassers to have quality, in-depth conversations with local residents about committing to support clean energy projects. Directors will work within their team to build an office to scale from the ground up. All directors are expected to train staff in the field while leading by example themselves; they must also communicate long and short term goals to staff and manage campaign reporting. The Canvass Director will work in tandem with a local field organizer and manage canvassing staff and Team Leads and report to the Canvass Director.

We are hiring a Canvass Director to begin June 9h through July 2nd.

Location: Seattle, WA . Strong preference for local and in-state candidates.

Canvass Management Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of 10-15 hourly staff who will be canvassing door-to-door to garner support and recruit volunteers for local clean energy projects
• Set goals and hold staff accountable
• Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff
• Identify, promote, and train a leadership team
• Build a diverse team where staff feel respected, while fostering a culture of equity and justice
• Implement quality control measures to ensure integrity of the work
• Go in the field yourself a few days per week to canvass, train staff, and help drive office goals
• Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff 
• Develop strategic plans to reach registered voters in assigned locations
• Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials 

Qualifications:

Must have

• Leadership experience, ability to motivate a large team
• Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week.
• Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others.
• Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement.
• Track record of equity and inclusion.
• Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-have

• Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees
• Experience with deep canvassing
• Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities
• Facilitation experience
• Local knowledge/experience

Salary: The salary range for this position is $1,146 - $1,542 per week. We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and hands-on training. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement and bonuses.
