LPN / LVN In Step Down Unit
Positions available for a night shift in a step down unit. Experience in a patient ratio of 1:5 is required. Candidates should have direct step down or progressive care unit experience. Candidates with ICU experience will not be considered for this position. The unit may utilize a team nursing model where RNs and LPNs partner to care for a group of patients. The target patient ratio is 1:4, but can go up to 1:5 or 1:6. Patient population includes individuals with COPD, CHF, pneumonia, flu, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and post-COVID. The facility provides care supported by respiratory therapists for tracheostomy, ventilation, BiPAP, and high-oxygen requirements. Candidates will be required to monitor, interpret, and respond to telemetry readings. Familiarity with advanced care procedures such as chest tubes and various cardiac drips is beneficial. Teamwork and collaboration among staff are emphasized for optimal patient outcomes. Travelers should be willing to float to other units as necessary based on patient needs. Working every other weekend and holiday is expected.
