Business Systems Analyst

Position: Business Systems Analyst Location: San Diego, CA Duration: 12+ Months Contract Total Hours/week: 40.00 Work hours: Standard 1st shift (9-5) with some flexibility Team currently remote; candidate must be local and able to return to office when needed Must be proficient in Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel); SAP experience is a plus Summary The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for developing expertise to support systems for functional operations of the SAGE operational system and interface requirements to the SAP ERP System. The role involves analyzing master data, communicating findings, creating and maintaining documentation, providing training, and collaborating cross‑functionally for end‑to‑end business processes in the SAGE system. Duties and Responsibilities Business Systems Development Assist in identifying and evaluating system solutions and procedures that meet user requirements. Participate in analysis of business requirements, cross‑functional information dependencies and systems impacts. Assist in documentation of business system processes. Maintain close working relationships with business partners to ensure effective system functionality. Explore enhancements and other functionalities of the business system to maximize the efficiency of SAGE business systems. Information Integration & Documentation Partner with applicable departments/units to ensure cross‑functional integration of system processes. Review functional specifications to ensure business requirements are met. Communicate data standards and assist with data integrity maintenance during database conversions. Subject Matter Expertise Develop and build knowledge of SAGE business processes and required systems. Stay abreast of basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and comply with those requirements. Participate in activities that review processes to recommend changes and process improvements where justifiable. Perform other related duties and assignments as required. Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific, technical, or business discipline with a minimum of 1 year experience working in computer databases, integrating and translating business processes into operational systems. High School GED/Diploma required; candidates with equivalency experience will be considered. Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office and proficiency with MS Excel and/or other similar databases. Basic understanding of ERP system functionality. Familiarity with structured phase‑gate product development and portfolio management processes preferred. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to follow established policies and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated results‑oriented capabilities.
