Overview Sentara CarePlex Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medical/Surgical Cardiac Unit. Responsibilities As a Registered Nurse, primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and managing the overall care of assigned patients. teamwork is emphasized to ensure the best patient care. This position supports opportunities for advancement into leadership or expanded roles in various care settings. The unit is a 24-bed Medical/Surgical Stroke unit with telemetry monitoring, with patients monitored to determine the next step in care (e.g., cardiac cath, transfer for surgery, or diagnostic tests such as stress tests or echocardiograms). Qualifications Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire Education: RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master’s Degree Unit Description This is a 24-bed Medical/Surgical Stroke unit where patients are on telemetry monitoring. The unit cares for patients to determine the next steps in care, such as cardiac catheterization, transfer to a heart hospital for surgery, or undergoing diagnostic tests (e.g., stress tests, echocardiograms).
