Removal Technician/Transporter/Driver. A licensed funeral home/crematory in Millersville, Md, (Anne Arundel County) has a full-time opening for a removal technician​... also known as a mortuary driver or funeral transporter.

Update : Crematory Operator experience and state license is a plus.

Duties: You will act as the first in-person contact, customer service representative of our funeral home for the families we serve. You will connect with families and transport families' deceased loved ones from points throughout Maryland to the funeral home. You will also remove the deceased from hospitals, medical examaniner's office, the State Anatomy Board, nursing homes and hospices.

You must have a clear grasp of common sense and a serious demeanor. Stellar communication and driving skills are a must. And above all, you must have the fortitude to handle working around the deceased.

We are looking for someone mature, empathetic, experienced and skilled... who can communicate well with grieving families.

Heavy lifting and driving are important parts of the job.

You should be familiar with the removal locations like hospitals, hospices and nursing homes.

You will be called upon to help out in the crematory and occasionally in the front office with customer service and case management duties.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with families and colleagues
• Experience in funeral and bereavement support
• Must be available to be on call for some overnight shifts and some weekends.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands of the role
• Clean driving record and extensive driving experience
• Clean criminal and credit histories
