Description
American Traveler is hiring an LPN/LVN for a Long-Term Care unit, requiring an active AK license (if applicable), prior travel experience, and at least 1 year of LTC experience.
Details
- Long-Term Care facility with 40 staffed beds
- Patient ratio of 1:20
- Scheduled for 4x12 shifts, either Days (0700-1930) or Nights (1900-0730), based on facility needs at time of start
- No rotation between day and night shifts, with occasional exceptions for urgent staffing needs
- No on-call requirements
- May be required to float within scope to other units or sister facilities to meet facility needs
- Uses ECS charting system
Requirements
- Current AK license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required
- Previous travel assignment experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Alaska Food Worker Certification required, obtained during onsite orientation
- LTAC experience preferred
- Skilled in medication administration, wound and skin care, catheter insertion, feeding tube management, and vital sign monitoring
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include patient admission, communication of status changes to RN/MD, isolation precautions/PPE, ambulation assistance, and bathing/mouth care
- Any scrub color permitted
- Free parking available onsite
- Facility arranges shuttle transportation to and from Anchorage at contract start and end, plus local shuttle service in Seward
- First-time travelers not accepted for this assignment
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Local candidates not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- No more than 2 weeks of RTO considered for a 26-week contract, and all RTO must be submitted upfront
- Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- RTO requests made after offer or contract signing will not be considered
