Referral Management Services (RMS) Clerk

In this role youll help coordinate specialty care referrals within a military healthcare environment. Youll review referral information communicate with patients and healthcare providers and maintain accurate records to help patients move through the referral process.

Working in a centralized healthcare call center youll use electronic health records referral management systems and telephone communications to resolve referral issues track requests and support continuity of care.

Employment Type: Full-time

Residence Requirement: Candidate must reside within 50 miles of San Antonio TX.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $17.10$18.00 per hour
• Health and Welfare (H&W) benefit of up to $5.09 per hour in accordance with the Service Contract Act (SCA).

Schedule: MondayFriday 7:00 a.m.4:00 p.m. Pacific Time excluding federal holidays. Overtime may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and process specialty care referrals verifying required documentation clinical information and referral completeness.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers to obtain missing information clarify referral requests and resolve processing issues.
• Enter track update and close referrals using electronic health records referral management systems and secure messaging tools including MHS GENESIS.
• Respond to patient inquiries manage inbound and outbound calls and provide referral status updates and appointment-related information.
• Research clinical records claims and referral histories to resolve discrepancies and support accurate referral processing.
• Maintain accurate documentation protect patient information and support quality assurance and established processing standards.

Qualifications :

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use Microsoft 365 applications including Teams Excel and Outlook along with other required computer systems and technologies.
• Ability to provide courteous professional customer service to internal and external customers and communicate effectively by telephone verbally and in writing including handling or routing calls and inquiries.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities organize priorities and complete assigned tasks accurately within required timeframes while maintaining records and documentation.
• Ability to follow established procedures address routine issues and seek assistance or clarification when needed.
