Mental Health Professional III Intake

Introduction The Mental Health Professional III facilitates high quality, patient-centered care by providing psychiatric services to patients and their families. The Mental Health Professional III performs psychiatric assessments and coordinates treatment/discharge plans for patients in the emergency department and telehealth settings. This role performs first evaluations for involuntary commitment and makes level-of-care determinations to facilitate transfer and safe discharge. Job Summary and Qualifications The Mental Health Professional III role will deliver exceptional psychiatric treatment to patients and their loved ones. The position prioritizes the satisfaction of their patients by offering patient-centered and high-quality care. The responsibilities include evaluations, psycho-education, group activities, planning for treatment, mapping out discharge, and providing therapeutic counseling help. They work to produce positive outcomes for their patients by using verified techniques in one-on-one, family, and group counseling sessions. What will you do in this role: Maintain effective communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, and continuum of care providers. Maintain professionalism and use good communication skills to interact with peers, staff, patients, and families, and resolve conflicts. Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to maintain clear professional boundaries with peers, patients, and families. Provide education and guidance about state commitment processes, abuse reporting requirements, the duty to warn, and guardianship processes. Demonstrate knowledge and role in hospital codes. Serve as an educational resource to patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, payer representatives, and other parties as appropriate about behavioral services. Review, coach, and help with the training of new staff/interns as assigned within approved practice and program guidelines. Participate in developing department goals and clinical programming. Perform utilization review as assigned. Help with Process and Quality Improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Required Education: Masters Degree in Social Work or related field Required License/Certifications: Currently licensed as one of the following professionals: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMHC, LISW, LICSW Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider (within 30 days of employment), Crisis Prevention Intervention (within 30 days of employment) Preferred Experience: Experience in mental health or related field We are an equal opportunity employer.
