Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with respiratory issues in a variety of settings, including acute care and geriatrics. This position plays a critical role in patient care, ensuring optimal respiratory function and comfort for patients across all age groups.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine respiratory therapy needs.
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor vital signs and patient responses to therapy, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health, treatment plans, and home care strategies.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
• Provide support in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Valid Respiratory Therapy license or certification as required by state regulations.
• Proficiency in basic life support techniques.
• Experience or knowledge in geriatrics and acute care settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy.
• Strong skills in patient assessment and monitoring of vital signs.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as hospitals or trauma centers.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
