Paint Specialist

Compensation Pay Range: $11.41 - $20.30 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation may include annual and quarterly performance bonuses and premiums, which may be paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Multiple premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Build and maintain relationships with PBE customers (both retail and professional) to ensure consistent and profitable sales growth. Provide technical assistance and use PBE sales tools to offer customers the highest level of service. Work with the Store Manager to set and accomplish PBE sales goals. Conduct color formula lookup and mix of custom OEM colors, utilizing color matching tools such as ColorNet, Paint Manager, variant decks, and spectrophotometers. Maintain the mixing room, scale(s), mixing machine(s), and paint counter, ensuring a clean and safe environment. Manage all PBE inventory, including checking in and putting up stock, completing monthly cycle counts, and coordinating with the Store Manager to add new products and remove dead inventory. Implement a weekly call schedule and call summary for review by the Store Manager and submission to the District Manager. Coordinate and route Delivery Specialists with the Installer Service Specialist to ensure efficient service. Follow and promote all company customer service programs (e.g., Hi‑5, Low Price Guarantee, Dialing for Dollars, Related Selling). Gather proper information from PBE customers in the case of a labor claim or PBE warranty. Assist and train other store team members in PBE sales and technical questions. Maintain a close relationship with all PBE Contracted Customers and report status or issues to Store Manager, TSM, and RFSM/PBE SR as needed. Stay informed on PBE industry news, processes, and products, including EPA and OSHA regulations. Promote current PBE sales tools to customers (Shop Specials, Tool Box, Hot Sheet, Product Announcements). Ensure all PBE professional customers have correct pricing loaded for the market while maximizing profits and staying competitive. Greet walk‑in customers in a friendly, courteous manner and assist in merchandise selection. Complete required FastTrack training modules relevant to the position. Accept cash and/or checks, make change, process credit card transactions, and utilize card and check readers for each transaction. Accept returned merchandise for credit in accordance with all policies and procedures. Handle customer complaints as directed. Assist with completion of daily image maker and planogram updates, including out front stocking, fronting and facing, and cleaning. Perform various clerical work such as preparing new and warranty merchandise returns, monthly stock adjustment, and daily paperwork. Collaborate with Territory Sales Managers to provide superior service to all professional PBE customers through a team effort. SKILLS / EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / ABILITIES Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences. Professional, friendly customer service orientation. Ability to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store simultaneously. Desired: Automotive paint and body knowledge or experience.
