Frazer, Ltd. is a leading builder of custom emergency medical vehicles and mobile healthcare units, headquartered in Sugar Land, TX. The Quality Control Inspector II is the last set of expert eyes before a Frazer vehicle reaches a customer - the person who catches what others miss and keeps the standard from slipping. This role exists because quality at Frazer isn't a checkbox; it's the foundation everything else is built on.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Quality Control Inspector II Look Like?

1. Walks the production floor conducting independent quality inspections across multiple work centers - reading prints, running measurements, and verifying work against spec before it moves to the next stage.
2. Picks up a multimeter and digs into a 12 VDC circuit that's not behaving right - testing connections, identifying the fault, and documenting findings for the corrective action log.
3. Pulls up a defect trend in the ERP system, traces the pattern back to a recurring process gap, and brings a clear root cause write-up to the QC Supervisor with a corrective action recommendation attached.
4. Climbs into the cab of a newly completed EMS unit and takes it through a road test - evaluating equipment, features, and vehicle performance against the build sheet before signing off on delivery readiness.
5. Walks a fabrication technician through a weld rejection - not to lecture, but to explain exactly what the spec requires and what needs to change, in language that actually helps them get it right.
6. Logs completed inspections, closes out tasks in ShopTrack, and reconciles the day's job records - because clean documentation is as much a part of the job as the physical inspection.
7. Sits in on a QC team meeting, flags a recurring finish issue across two work centers, and leaves with an owner and a resolution target date.

Required Education and Experience:

• 2+ years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering prints, technical drawings, and work orders.
• Experience with 120 VAC and 12 VDC electrical systems; comfortable using a multimeter.
• Hands-on inspection experience with metal fabrication processes - welding, bending, punching, grinding.
• Google Workspace and ERP system proficiency.
• Good driving record and valid state driver's license.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Associate's degree in Quality Control, Manufacturing Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 3-6 years of QC experience in custom vehicle, specialty equipment, or EMS/emergency vehicle manufacturing.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies (5-Why, Fishbone, or similar).

Compensation

$22.00 - $28.00 / hour

Commensurate with education, certifications, and experience.

Occasional evening/weekend work may be required.
