Principal Systems Engineer

Principal Systems EngineerRaytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join and help grow our Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SETC) team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing innovative, mission-focused solutions by delivering customized engineering services and products that address unique customer requirements. You will collaborate across disciplines to translate complex needs into effective, high-impact system designs and capabilities. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Indianapolis, Indiana.What You Will Do:Develop and document requirements and interfaces, design analysis, modeling and simulation, system integration and trade studiesCoordinate with a cross-discipline team to meet customer/mission planning requirementsSupport Statement of Work (SOW) compliance by developing, documenting, and executing system verification activitiesIntegrate software and hardware subsystemsFollow a structured data driven approach to solve problemsContribute to the completion of project/program milestonesAdheres to established systems engineering processes and procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all project activitiesProvide input and guidance to lower-level engineers with tasks and assignmentsAnalyze data, communicate results, and manage tasks and/or projectsQualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) or more years of relevant experience with full systems engineering lifecycle (V-model), including writing, executing system qualification tests, software requirements, design, development, integration, and test.Knowledge of the software lifecycle, including requirements, design, implementation, integration, test, and configuration management.Execute detailed systems engineering design, support software development and execute systems integration testing of the cockpit displays.Perform detail technical engineering investigations to identify problems and determine probable causeThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
