About the Role

The Company is seeking an inaugural Chief Program Officer (CPO) to join its Executive Leadership Team. The CPO will be responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of the organization's flagship talent development programs and field-building initiatives. This includes the design, implementation, and impact of programs that support over 70 communities nationwide in developing systems of opportunity for young people and families. The role demands a mission-driven leader with a strong commitment to the values of the organization, including equity, partnership, humility, vision, and learning. The CPO will be expected to provide strategic financial stewardship, ensure program quality and innovation, and lead the team in pursuing programmatic enhancements and strategic partnerships. Additionally, the CPO will be involved in organization-wide leadership, cross-departmental alignment, and will play a key role in strategic partnerships, fundraising, and external relations. Candidates for the CPO position at the company should have a Master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, with a minimum of 12 years' progressive senior leadership experience. The ideal candidate will have a national reputation in cross-sector collaboration, public policy, education, or related fields, and a proven track record of leading complex, multi-million-dollar programs. Experience in collective impact initiatives, leadership development, and securing philanthropic funding is essential. The CPO will be expected to work closely with the Executive Director and the development team to secure support for programs and organizational growth. Strong strategic planning, project management, and organizational leadership skills are required, as is the ability to represent the organization both internally and externally. The role is well-suited for a leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for children, youth, and families through collective impact across various community development systems.
