Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis, Mental Health) Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 52 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 6:15 AM - 2:15 PM Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio Certifications: None specified Must-Have: - Knowledge of professional registered nursing procedures - Knowledge of state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures related to nursing - Skill in the operation of medical equipment - Ability to write meaningful, concise, and accurate reports - Ability to gather, collate, and classify information Description: Provides professional nursing care. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Makes nursing rounds. Takes and records vital signs. Prepares and administers prescribed medications and ordered treatment plans. Monitors patients in restraints on a timely basis. Provides immediate medical attention to emergencies. Counsels patients regarding the need for medical referrals. Schedules, assigns, and reviews work of lower-level staff if assigned. Participates in staff development and education. Reviews care plans written by staff and trains new employees. Responsible for all health care of bedridden patients. Evaluates care needed and rendered and develops care plans. Administers medication including narcotics and performs direct nursing care as needed. Performs specialized procedures. Organizes and oversees emergency response teams. Acts as lead worker in charge of one assigned shift in the absence of a designated employee. Assists with diagnostic health evaluations. Charts and records all medications and treatments. Completes required reports and documents medical information. Orders supplies and equipment and maintains inventory. Arranges for out-patient clinic appointments and medical examinations. Performs administrative tasks and serves as a liaison within the organization. Conducts or attends meetings as needed. Serves as an instructor on occasion and is a member or leader of problem-solving teams. Unusual Working Conditions: Works shifts, weekends, and holidays. Exposed to communicable diseases.
