Hugg and Hall Equipment Company is looking for someone with mechanical knowledge and customer service skills to join our team as an Equipment Service Mechanic in the field. We are a full-service equipment company specializing in industrial and construction equipment since 1956.ABOUT THE POSITIONAs field service technician at Hugg and Hall, you will repair various types of material handling equipment including forklifts, aerial lifts, and more.In this role, you will:Travel to various locations to troubleshoot, perform in field diagnostic assessments, and repair a wide range of construction equipment and componentsUse your in-depth mechanical knowledge and expertise to ensure customer satisfaction and equipment functionality.Continuously communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers and co-workers including Salespeople, Coordinators, and Managers regarding job progress and general updatesOperate in a safe, efficient manner with minimal supervision to decrease equipment downtime while also maintaining safe working standards both on-site and during the operation of company vehicles.Advanced mechanical aptitude, strong customer service skills, a professional demeanor, and a safety-first mentality are all key.WHAT WE OFFER:Competitive pay + quarterly incentives and bonus programs = very strong earning potentialCompany provided vehicle, phone, and tabletOngoing paid training, manufacturer certifications, and career advancement opportunitiesMedical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance401(k) Retirement with company matchGenerous paid time off and holidaysREQUIREMENTSMinimum of 1-year hands-on experience as a service technician repairing and maintaining material handling equipment or in a related industryMust own a complete line of tools including specialized tools needed to complete the job at the customer siteBasic computer skillsValid driver's license with a clean driving recordMinimum 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalentOTHER SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:Strong technical skills in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.Familiarity with equipment operationFamiliarity with diagnostic tools and equipmentAbility to read or be trained in reading schematicsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionPHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSThis position:will be working in operating facilities and outdoors, traveling to customer locations. The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures. The normal auto hazards will apply.will be frequently working on equipment with potential hazards where appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.must be able to lift 50 pounds. Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds.
